We have an awesome match-up to look forward to on Saturday night as Clemson visits Louisville in a battle of two ACC TITANS. Louisville has looked explosive behind the impossibly-good Lamar Jackson while Clemson absolutely smothered the Auburn offense last week. Last season’s match-up was phenomenal TV as the Cards just about SHOCKED the world losing a tight one 42-36. GET CHO POPCONE !

The Match-Up
Clemson offense vs Louisville defense
The Tigers rolled up over 600 yards against Kent St but had a lot of trouble last week with a defense that has some teeth. They only managed to tally 284 yards of offense, but to be fair, we think that Auburn defense is pretty good. The Tigers have the ability to spread it around to a lot of weapons but they are still pretty inexperienced at QB/RB/WR. Kelly Bryant appears to be a keeper but he has only 1 TD pass so far while leading the team in rushing. The Louisville defense appears to have some serious holes in pass coverage BUT do not forget that they have bagged 6 sacks in two games AND have only allowed 1.6 yards per carry. We are not sold on their defense yet but have to respect the fact that there is some talent on board. We think they will give Clemson problems at times and will not allow close to the 42 points that they did in last year’s game.
Louisville offense vs Clemson defense
You do not need MEGALOCKS ACC QB INSIDERS to tell you how amazing Lamar Jackson is playing right now. He has over 1,000 yards passing/rushing in just two games. Of course the tricky thing is knowing how that will translate when playing the Clemson defense after having faced UNC and Purdue. We do know that he is more than capable of giving the Tigers fits because that is exactly what he did last season. RB Malik Williams is averaging 11.5 yards per carry and WR Jaylen Smith has already tallied 300 yards receiving. The Clemson defense registered 11 (!) sacks last week and are sure to get Lamar on the ground more than a few times. The question becomes – will that be enough to offset the big plays that the Cardinals are sure to make on offense ?

This STEEL CAGE BATTLE will go a long way in terms of deciding the division winner given the inexperience that Florida St now has at QB…….Congrats MEGALOCKS HEISMAN PROP BACKERS….Lamar was +900 when we bagged him and he is now the clear favorite…..What could possibly go wrong ? (jinx alert)
Summary
We started out the week really liking Clemson and now have a much more neutral stance. The Cardinals defense definitely has some holes but we think that the inexperience on offense for Clemson will make it difficult to pull away in this one.
Conclusion
No official play. Feels like a 50/50 cover situation to us right now. We even think the total looks tough to beat. Gun to the head selection would be Clemson -3 for small potatoes but we will not be laying any cake on this one. But you bet we will be watching. Good luck to fans of both teams ! Enjoy.
