The Game
Auburn looks for their first win of the season after a tough match-up with Clemson in week one. They put forth a great effort and almost SHOCKED THE WORLD. Arkansas St was a hot mess at home vs Toledo and now go into a hornet’s nest trying to right the ship.

We are hoping that Auburn uses less than a dozen QBs in this game. They had a wacky plan at QB last week vs Clemson but they almost pulled out a win losing 19-13. There is not much of a passing game to speak of but they have some ability to run the ball from the QB position and RB Kerryon Johnson had 23 carries for 94 yards last week.
Arkansas St was shredded to pieces by Toledo QB Logan Woodside. The good news for Red Wolves is that this is a relatively good match-up. They only gave up 4.1 yards per carry to an excellent running team in Toledo.

The Toledo defense was much better than we thought they would be given all the new starters on hand. Toledo 1 MEGALOCKS 0. Arkansas St showed us no ability to MATRICULATE in the passing game. Chad Voytik hit on less than 50% of his passes. The WR group did not show much separation. It might be time to give QB Justice Hansen a shot but boy oh boy that would be a tough assignment.
The Auburn DL was fantastic last week. We noted that as our only worry about taking Clemson but still cannot believe they held that offense to 399 yards. Given what we witnessed last week against Toledo, it is hard to imagine Arkansas St moving the ball consistently in this game.

Mixed bag in the trends department….Auburn is 8-1-1 to the under in home games while Arkansas St is 19-7 to the over in their last 26 games overall…..SANDWICH GAME GUY will note that Auburn is coming off a big game vs Clemson and has Texas A&M on deck….tough spot for the Tigers…..Most interesting factoid…..Let’s note some scores the last 3 years when Ark St had to play a tough non-conference opponent on the road – all losses….ready ? 55-6, 37-7, 34-19, 41-20, 38-9, 31-7, 41-19….yikes……And trivia buffs will note the 38-9 game was at AUBURN in 2013.
Summary
The Auburn defense should have a fun time. BUT. With Texas A&M on deck and the crazy QB situation at hand we cannot recommend Auburn at this price. Both teams run fast tempo so it is risky to recommend an under. There should be a lot of plays run in this game.
