The Game

Ridiculous. Watching Alabama play is just overwhelming. They beat a good USC team 52-6. Now they get WKU at home before they face Ole Miss next week. The Hilltoppers looked really good in their week one tune-up vs Rice but now they face the toughest challenge imaginable.

The Match-Up

WKU offense vs Alabama defense

Have fun. The Crimson Tide limited USC QB Max Browne to 101 yards passing and 0 TDs. Yes, Western Kentucky is an excellent passing team, but we cannot imagine the Hilltoppers having any kind of consistent success. They are very beat up at RB and there is no way they should get the remaining healthy bodies pulverized before conference play starts. Just a thought.

Alabama offense vs WKU defense

Hey look. Alabama might have another star. True freshman QB Jalen Hurts looked pretty good last week against USC and now gets to face a less talented defense. WKU was sneaky good on defense last season only allowing 26 points per game but they only return 4 starters on defense this season. Alabama should be able to do whatever they want whenever they want to do it.

Tasty Tidbits

Alabama was only 2-5 ATS as a home favorite last season….#smallsamplesize….It is worth mentioning again that the Tide has Ole Miss on deck….Bama beat WKU at home 35-0 in 2012….WKU played at LSU last season and lost 48-20…..This looks like a much tougher match-up….Not a great comparison…just saying…..not saying….just saying.

Summary

There is no chance we are even thinking about WKU. They are a good team but Alabama is not a good fade in this spot. Can we lay 28+ ? Hmmmmmm. We get the jitters laying 10 points in any game but this looks like a laugher given the talent edge.

Conclusion

No official play.

Lean: Pretty strong lean to Alabama at any number 28 or better. Nothing official yet.
