ACC
California 21 Auburn 14 – 334-286 yd edge for the COMMIES in the win and they were (+5) in t/o margin…..Got revenge for last year’s loss to the Tigers in Berkeley…..Golden Bears will be an interesting team to follow in ACC play.
Tennessee 51 NC State 10 – Yes, guy…..We’re not surprised that Tennessee smoked them but we didn’t see 51-10 coming….460-143 yard edge, each team had a pick 6 TD…..The Volunteers stop unit still hasn’t allowed a TD and they’ve got Kent St up next.
Duke 26 Northwestern 20 (2 OT) – Gutsy win…..342-289 yard edge for Blue Devils….Northwestern’s only regulation time TD came on an 11-yard drive after a muffed punt…….And now it’s time for another visit to SHAWSHANK PRISON…..where you’re only one day away from taking a SHIV in the kidney if you don’t play your cards right….Duke/NW under backers must have felt like they’d spent a week in the HOLE because with a total of 37.5 and a score of 13-10 late in the 4th Q what could possibly go wrong?….Great call ‘under’ backers!! That pick was too easy…..Uh oh what’s this?….Duke last second FG to tie it 13-13….Off to overtime….We’ll at least the ‘under’ 37.5 looks safe…..Uh oh, what’s this?…..Teams trade TDs like Tom Brady and Peyton Manning in the extra sessions….26-20 final…..Congrats ‘over’ backers what a great call!
Clemson 66 Appalachian St 20 – Kudos to the Tigers and they bounced back off the loss to Georgia and put up 56 (!!!) points in the first half…..712-363 yard edge….Bye week and then NC State up next.
BYU 18 SMU 15 – 2nd stinker of the year for SMU…..340-261 yd edge for BYU and the Mustangs were forced to kick five (!) FGs.
Virginia Tech 31 Marshall 14 – another sluggish game for the Hokies….338-278 yd edge…..was 17-14 well into the 2nd half….early PR TD gave them quick lead but they were unable to separate until the 4Q.
Louisville 49 Jacksonville St 14 – 611-290 yd edge for Cards…..They’ve scored 111 points over the first 2G….Bye week then Georgia Tech up next.
North Carolina 38 Charlotte 20 – 490-358 yd edge, 269 rush 221 pass…Backup QB G Harrell looked fine.
Syracuse 31 Georgia Tech 28 – bit of a misleading final….Orange had 520-378 yard edge and led 31-14….Tech scored 2 TD in the final four minutes….but to their credit they made it really interesting in the 4Q.
Virginia 31 Wake Forest 30 – Demon Deacons puked it away up 30-17….Cavs take a late lead 31-30….Wake miraculously completes a pass that gets them into manageable FG range and FUMBLE!!!!……Game over, start the cars, thanks for coming!…..544-430 yard edge for Wake Forest….Virginia with 6 (!) sacks.
Pittsburgh 28 Cincinnati 27 – WHOA NELLIE…..Panthers down 27-6 in the 3Q….comeback and win on last second FG….498-447 yd edge for Panthers…..Looked like DOO DOO in the first half, came to life in the 2nd half……
………..And now it’s time for a FIRESIDE CHAT with MEGALOCKS………Grab some marshmallows and a random weenie and gather around….This is for hard core fans and degenerates only….One of the annoying things about college football is when coaches like Pat Narduzzi think they’re so smart with “math stuff” and/or they follow what “the science” tells them to do…..Down by 8 in the 4Q after a TD….Kick the XP to cut the lead to 7, right? Nope….”the science” apparently tells you to go for two so you can theoretically cut the lead to six points and then win the game when you get your next TD!….Oh wait….But what if you miss the 2 pt conversion?….Ok now you’re down by 8…..Pitt scores another TD….Now they have to go for two points just to tie…..Oh wait….They miss another 2 pt conversion and were extremely fortunate they didn’t lose by 2 points…..Lucky for them Cincinnati’s coach is also a bozo and Pitt was able to get a shot at a game winning FG…..This “strategy” happens a lot during the season and you know that if you study all the boxscores and watch a lot of games….Our PLEA to head coaches is to kick the XP and stop acting like SIMPLE JACK. <rant completed….thank you for your patience>
Big 12
CORN 28 Colorado 10 – in a total shocker the Buffs’ OL was PURE TRASH (again)….6 sacks allowed, 16 net rushing yards…..334-260 yd edge for Nebraska….How many weeks until Colorado quits?….We’ll hang up and listen.
Oklahoma St 39 Arkansas 31 (2 OT) – MISLEADING FINAL…..WOO PIG had a 648-385 yard edge and a 21-7 lead….They were (-2) in t/o margin and gave up a pick six….Held Oklahoma St to 59 rush yds…..2 OT crushing loss for the Razorbacks…..Tip of the cap to the MEGALOCKS WAR ROOM as we liked the Cowboys at 7.5 but waited for MOB STEAM to push it to +10.
Illinois 23 Kansas 17 – a wee bit of a misleading final…..327-271 yd edge for Kansas but they disappointed again on the road…..(-3) in t/o margin….game turned on pick 6 late in the 2Q.
Arizona St 30 Mississippi St 23 – 428-298 yd edge for Sun Devils and they rushed for 359 (!) yards….Our boy Cam SKATTEBO rushed for 262 yards on 33 carries…..that’s OLD SCHOOL, bay-bee…..Interesting game at Texas St next week.
Oklahoma 16 Houston 12 – WAT the WAT??….Sooners outgained (!) at home by Houston (29 pt dogs) and it was 14-12 late well into the 4Q…..Defense was solid again but the offense looked just as rough as it did vs Temple….Houston didn’t hand them points on a regular basis like Temple did in week one….318-252 yd edge for Houston…..Oklahoma has a tough game with Tulane up next.
Iowa St 20 Iowa 19 – Another crazy CY HAWK TROPHY slugfest….Iowa up 13-CACK at half….Iowa St down 19-17 late, miracle late drive ending with 55 (!) yard FG with 6 seconds left!…..361-303 yd edge for the Cyclones….Each team owned one half, even game overall.
Utah 23 Baylor 12 – Utah gets up 23-CACK, star QB Cam Rising leaves the game….They don’t score again…..Could have been a SENSELESS SLAUGHTER……”Sharp action” on Baylor must have known Rising was due to get hurt…….292-223 yard edge for Utah…..According to our DEEP UTAH INSIDERS Cam Rising doesn’t have a serious injury but we’ll see what happens.
Kansas St 34 BYU 27 – MISLEADING FINAL – 491-396 yd edge for Tulane….The Green Wave were (-2) in t/o margin and Kansas St broke the 27-27 tie with a defensive TD midway thru the 4Q.
UCF 45 Sam Houston 14 – 554-287 yd edge for UCF….They had an impossible 384 yards on the ground after rushing for 454 (!) in week one…..Yuuuuge game at TCU up next.
Washington St 37 Texas Tech 16 – 491-416 yd edge for Texas Tech but they were (-3) in t/o margin….Always a tough game when you travel to the middle of nowhere in Pullman, WA…..Cougars’ QB John Mateer runs like a BABY GIRAFFE but he rushed for 197 yards and they needed it since the THROW GAME wasn’t working that well….Mike Leach dedication game goes well for the home team.
Big Ten
Michigan St 27 Maryland 24 – nice victory for Sparty and our SEASON WIN TOTAL CLUB members….Michigan St deserved to win the game after winning the yardage battle 493-339 (!) and they got a much improved performance from QB Aidan Chiles….Having said that….they turned the ball over three times and needed 10 points in the last four minutes to win the game…..How about some sweet last second FG action to send the boys to 2-0?
USC 48 Utah St 0 – total domination…..547-190 yd edge, 253 rush 295 pass…Trojans have a bye week and then travel to face Michigan!
Washington 30 Eastern Michigan 9 – 501-204 yd edge and 7 sacks for the Huskies…..Eagles did what the Eagles do…..Should have lost by FIDDY but found a way to cover.
Rutgers 49 Akron 10 – 515-309 yd edge, 285 rush and 230 pass….Zips have to recover after facing Ohio St and the Scarlet Knights in back-to-back weeks to open the season.
Ohio St 56 Western Michigan 0 – 683-99 yard edge for Buckeyes….Broncos couldn’t put forth another big effort after taking Wisconsin to the wall….Understandable.
Texas 31 Michigan 12 – 389-286 yd edge, Michigan never in it, were outrushed 143-82, Texas +3 in turnover margin….Under backers got an OUCHIE….Total of 41.5…..31-6 late….Michigan with meaningless TD to make it 31-12 (43).
Oregon 37 Boise St 34 – The Ducks escaped with the lives again…..Outgained 369-353 and needed a pair of return TDs (PR,KR) plus a last second FG to take down Boise St…..Sneaky tough game with Oregon St up next
Penn St 34 Bowling Green 27 – Bowling Green came thru for MEGALOCKS subscribers as 35-point dogs and they actually led the game 24-20 at half…..438-375 yd edge for Penn St….We’re more worried about the defense than the offense after this game….Penn St had two 100-yard rushers and 204 passing yards…..Falcons are just one of a few MAC teams doing some good work early on!

ROLL TIDE 42 USF 16 – MISLEADING FINAL…..14-13 in 4Q…Alabama wins the 4Q 28-3 to make the game appear like a romp when you just look at the final score….Sloppy game for the Tide (-3 t/o)…..393-309 yd edge, at Wisconsin next week.
Ole Miss 52 MTSU 3 – 365-278 yd edge, 258 rush and 397 pass; Ole Miss 772/655 total yards F2G vs cream puffs.
Missouri 38 Buffalo 0 – 518-169 yd edge for Tigers, Missouri has outscored their first two opponents 89-CACK….First real test up next vs Boston College.
South Carolina 31 Kentucky 6 – Big game for South Cackalacky as they rolled into Lexington and smoked the Cats….252-183 yd edge, 5 sacks, held Kentucky to 44 (!) passing yards, Kentucky OL is having issues, yo.

Texas St 49 UTSA 10 – BLOODBATH CITY…..Two teams with CFP aspirations and only one is left standing……511-334 yard edge for the Bobcats….Just 82 yards on the ground for UTSA….Texas St plays JUGGERNAUT Arizona St at home in week 3!
Memphis 38 Troy 17 – 372-251 yd edge for Memphis….Coast-to-coast win but they didn’t exceed 400Y of offense….Massive road test at Florida St on deck as they try to make a statement for a CFP bid.
East Carolina 20 Old Dominion 14 – Yes, guy….The ARRRRRRRRRRRRRR Pirates made the Monarchs WALK THE PLANK……466-287 yard edge….Dominated the stats BUT like we noted in our write-up they’ve been loose with the football and they turned it over another four times….That’s 10 (!) turnovers in two games…..We projected a 150-200 yard edge on offense and whilst it should have been much easier we’ll take it and East Carolina is 2-0.
Army 24 Florida Atlantic 7 – Rocking chair winner for MEGALOCKS ML UNDERDOG CLUB……..up 14-CACK early….The Owls are PURE FILTH….449-235 yd edge for Army who looks way better on offense this season….405-42 (!) rush edge.
ULM 32 UAB 6 – Love to see it!….The Warhawks were double-digit underdogs and apparently the revenge angle we noted for HC Bryant Vincent was REAL and SPECTACULAR……They whooped DAT AZZ…296-259 yd edge and +3 t/o for ULM who are 2-0! And yes….Their season win total was 1.5 or 2 depending where you shopped….Way to go ULM.
Navy 38 Temple 11 – Easy win for the Middies as they go to 2-0….410-319 yard edge….Temple with another 3 turnovers making it 9 in two games….Yup, they look putrid.
Arkansas St 28 Tulsa 24 – The AWOOOOOOOOOOOOO Red Wolves escaped with their lives for the 2nd consecutive week….Entertaining game….405-362 yd edge for Ark St….Each team with a pair of turnovers…..Tulsa would have had another shot to get the ball back and score but they body slammed QB Jaylen Raynor and then gave him an ATOMIC WEDGIE and an EYE GOUGE…..That’s a personal foul….First down Ark St….Game over….Start the cars! Thanks for coming!

Liberty 30 New Mexico St 24 – One of the strangest results of the entire weekend and that’s saying something…..The Aggies were 22-point dogs and they led 17-3 early……Liberty cut the lead to two points….New Mexico St took a nine-point lead with 7 minutes left…..Liberty responds well and scores two TDs in the final five minutes…..MISLEADING FINAL…..473-275 yd edge for Liberty and they were (+1) in t/o margin….The Flames were just 1-11 on 3rd downs so that wasn’t great and they had 11 penalties for 122 yards…..Don’t look like a MORTAL LOCK right now to win CUSA like they did in the summer.
Louisiana 34 Kennesaw St 10 – Owls scored the first TD and then it was all Cajuns…..455-204 yd edge.
MAC
Northern Illinois 16 Notre Dame 14 – WHOA NELLIE doesn’t even do this justice!! ….Biggest win in program history for the Huskies…First win in the history of recorded human history that a MAC school beat Notre Dame….And it was also the first time a MAC team has EVER taken down an AP top-five opponent (previously 0-51)….That’s some SWEET ACTION!….There was nothing phony about it….388-286 yard edge for Northern Illinois….31 yd FG wtih 30 seconds left did the trick…..Irish had a 60+ yard FG to win on the last play but it was blocked….Even the refs cheating ** for Notre Dame in the final minute wasn’t enough.

Toledo 38 Massachusetts 23 – Toledo couldn’t shake off the Minutemen until scoring a TD with 2 min left….Another MISLEADING FINAL….UMass outgained (!!!) the Rockets 384-258….Toledo had a KR TD and a 73-yard passing score.
Ohio 27 South Alabama 20 – Nice win for the Bobcats….404-335 yd edge, 200 rush and 204 pass….Lower scoring game than we forecasted and Ohio’s D looked much better than they did vs Syracuse…..NOTE – South Alabama star QB Gio Lopez was a surprise scratch which wasn’t great for the ‘over’.
FIU 52 Central Michigan 16 – A surprise result for the freak with three ears and a deer antler growing out of his head who makes power ratings to the 8th decimal place but not a surprise for MEGALOCKS ML UNDERDOG CLUB…….Now we do have to admit it was a MISLEADING FINAL for sure…..369-309 yard edge for Central Michigan but they were (-6) in t/o margin….Sadly for Chippewas fans….QB Joe Labas may stink (20-39, 2-5 TD to INT, 3.9 YPA).
Mountain West
San Jose St 17 Air Force 7 – It’s early but the Falcons don’t look very good…..312-197 yd edge for San Jose St….14-7 after the first quarter and then no more scoring until a FG in the 4th Q.
Oregon St 21 San Diego St 0 – Methodical and efficient win…..7-CACK heading into the 4th Q….Oregon St with a pair of TDs to ice the game…..420-179 yd edge for the Beavers….Yuuuge game with Oregon up next….The CIVIL WAR, bay-bee…..Wait? You’re not allowed to call the game the Civil War? Sorry, Karen….We’re not playing along. Go take a few more safe and effective death jabs and put on a third mask.
Georgia Southern 20 Nevada 17 – Another scrappy performance from the Wolfpack but they fell a bit short…..Nevada led 14-7 after the first Q……MISLEADING FINAL….Nevada with 498-285 (!) yard edge and were just (-1) in turnover margin….They were 11/18 on 3rd down and the Eagles were 2/10…..How in the SAM HILL did Nevada lose?…..14 penalties didn’t help but it’s a bit of a puzzler.

Betting review
Big plays (see blog post from the summer – Message to Members – for bankroll management advice)
Tennessee -9 (W) – Blowout city. Line ran up to -10. “Sharp action” came in on NC State. Line closed anywhere from -8 to -9.
East Carolina ML (W) – Dominated the stats (see above) but they gave us some tense moments thanks to four turnovers, which was somewhat anticipated, but still a wee bit stressful! Line moved from ODU -2.5 to EC -2.5….Then “sharp action” came back in on the Monarchs. Line closed ODU -1.5.

6-2. Wake Forest lost by one point which was tough to watch. Arizona St got to the 12 yard line in the final two minutes and knelt the ball so we escaped with our ‘under’ in that one.

BOOM! ANOTHER 4/5 week! That’s some sweet TICKEE TICKEE to start the season. Congrats to those who made some bucks. Love to see the winning TICKEE TICKEE screenshots and thanks to those members who passed them along.
It’ll be tough to hit three weeks in a row but we’ll give it 110%.

Vanderbilt over 2.5 – YES, GUY. 2-0! Just need one more win.
Troy under 6.5 – Started 0-2. That’s a shame.
Hawaii over 5 – Lost by three to UCLA. Almost got home. Already have a win (1-1).
Navy over 5.5 – Started 2-0 as expected. Now things get interesting.
Temple under 2.5 – Started 0-2 and looked bad doing it.
Michigan St over 4.5 – We were Michigan St TRUTHERS in the offseason. Still plenty of room on the bandwagon! Big road win over Maryland. 2-0 with Prairie View A&M up next.
Indiana over 5.5 – Started 2-0 and they’re crushing and killing. Road favorites at UCLA this week.
FIU over 4 – Yuuuge win over Central Michigan as underdogs! 1-1 with winnable game on deck (at FAU).
Arkansas St over 6 – 2-0 to start the season but could be 0-2. Two CLOSE SHAVES.
Connecticut over 4.5 – 1-1 to start the season.
Louisiana Tech under 5 – Took down an FCS team in week one. Didn’t play this week.
Arizona St under 4.5 – 2-0 to start the season but they’ve got a tough schedule the rest of the way. Not thrilled with our position but we’ll see what happens.
Futures and Props Club
Miami to win the ACC at +450 looks like a decent grab.
Oregon to win the Big Ten? They don’t look very good so far.
Utah +325 and Iowa St +1000 to win the Big 12 look like promising positions. Utah QB Cam Rising appears to have escaped without a serious injury this week (hand). Iowa St beat Iowa and whilst that wasn’t a conference game we were pleased to see the THROW GAME get activated.
UTSA to win the AAC? They looked horrible vs Texas St but it’s a few weeks before conference action starts.
Heisman update – Nice to have Nico and Dart at big prices.
