The Game

This is not quite what we expected. We had this game circled on the calendar earlier in the year, but alas, both teams have really struggled as of late, and that is putting it mildly. Notre Dame has lost three of four including a home debacle vs Duke. Miami has lost three straight conference games after starting 4-0 vs light competition.

The Match-Up

Miami offense vs Notre Dame defense

The Miami running game, and OL in general, has really struggled lately. The good news is that they face a Notre Dame defense that has not done much of anything well this season unless aided by hurricane-force wind and rain. QB Brad Kaaya should enjoy having time for a change (in theory) to survey the field and tear apart a poor defense. Walton and Yearby are a really good one-two punch at RB. Miami has a very diverse offense and can be a real handful against teams with a weak DL.

Notre Dame offense vs Miami defense

Do not forget. Notre Dame started off the season scoring 47,39,28,35,50. They played in comically bad weather vs NC State and then played Stanford who is rock solid on D. QB D Kizer is mobile enough to give the PENETRATING Miami D a lot of trouble. Notre Dame should be able to mix it up enough against a banged up Miami defense that does not have the depth yet to compete for a full season.

MEGA-MAZEMENT !

For all the young Sparkies out there….this is a classic match-up from the “old days” that is very nostalgic for MEGALOCKS HQ….The Michigan St loss is looking worse and worse for Notre Dame…Miami has been outgained in four straight games including their win vs Georgia Tech.

Summary

Both teams are strugggulllinnnnng. Hard to put a finger on this one. Miami has the better defense but they are banged up. Might be best to cheer for points, yo.
