Georgia at Notre Dame – College Football Predictions
The Game
What a great match-up !
SEC East stud Georgia faces off with Notre Dame in South Bend. The Bulldogs disposed of a very good Appalachian St team in the season opener while the Fighting Irish ripped Temple to shreds by a score of 49-16. This is a stern test for both teams as Georgia wants to assert themselves as legitimate top-10 quality while Notre Dame is longing to atone for last season’s debacle. Two great programs with great tradition. WHOA NELLIE !

The Match-Up
Georgia offense vs Notre Dame defense
Ok. We have to deal with the elephant in the room first. Georgia will be without starting QB Jacob Eason in this game and will turn to freshman Jake Fromm. The good news ? Fromm got a lot of work last week and has a great running game to rely upon. We sorta feel like we could be the QB at Georgia and still win games. It has to feel good handing the ball off to RBs like Nick Chubb and Sony Michel. There is NO doubt there is concern about the passing game but it never hurts to have a great set of RBs going up a defense that has yielded a ton of rushing yards over the past four seasons (182,176,171,168). The Irish only bagged 14 (!) sacks last season while picking off just 8 passes. It seems to us like Georgia will have success on offense.
Notre Dame offense vs Georgia defense
Irish QB Brandon Wimbush was fantastic last week vs Temple as he threw for 184 yards and rushed for 106. Yes, we know it was Temple, but there is no doubt that he has talent. Notre Dame also returns last season’s leading rusher Josh Adams and their #1 WR in Equanimeous St Brown. The offensive line returns 4/5 starters and is excellent. And then we look to Georgia. The Bulldogs returns 10 starters on defense (9 – with the injury to DB Malcolm Parrish) and have a rock solid defense with a defensive-minded HC. As good as QB Wimbush looked in week one you have to think that Georgia has the RIGHT STUFF to give the Irish some problems.
MEGA-MAZING MORSELS
This is the first meeting between these two storied programs since the 1981 Sugar Bowl….Yes – it is hard to believe – but Notre Dame was 4-8 last season….#HotSeat for HC Brian Kelly.
Summary
This seems like a generous line to us. You have a potential National Title contender playing against a team that won four games last season. Color us skeptical. And you get the added bonus of cheering against Notre Dame. Just kidding. Kinda.
