The Game
Here we go !
Things are going to start getting real for YOUR Georgia Bulldogs as they take on Florida this week in one of our favorite games of the year. We have never had much success betting this game BUT love it when these two teams get together. Maybe, just maybe, the MEGALOCKS posse will get a road trip going next year. <crosses fingers>
Georgia is 7-0 and is looking like a virtual LOCK for a trip to the SEC title game. They have destroyed everything in their path so far other than Notre Dame (a 34,000 STAR MAX UNIT NICKEL BOMB WINNER) and should theoretically have no problem with Florida. Right ? Well, this is a yuuuuge rivalry, and there is no doubt the 3-3 Gators will empty the tank in this game. Let’s gooo !

The Match-Up
Georgia offense vs Florida defense
Not much to say here. The Georgia rushing attack is absolutely DEVASTATING and will wear down all but the most stout run defenses. The three-headed monster of Chubb/Michel/Swift has rushed for over 1,500 yards and 15 TDs this season and all three RBs are averaging 6.4+ yards per carry. Freshman QB Jake Fromm is lighting it up when MATRICULATING in the passing game (12-3 TD to INT ratio) averaging 9.6 yards per attempt. They are going to face a tough and GEEKED UP Florida defense who allowed just 263 yards to a really good Texas A&M team in their last game. They will probably get worn down BUT they can stay in it if they get a few turnovers. We also respect the grit they have shown this season with all the injuries and suspensions. We forecast Georgia getting into the mid-to-high 20s.
Florida offense vs Georgia defense
The task is daunting. Florida has a very underrated running game led by freshman Malik Davis BUT the Bulldogs’ defense has been a rock this season (#3 FBS; #4 run defense). It will help enormously to get WR Tyrie Cleveland back this week (questionable as we go to press) as he averages over 20 yards per catch and has demonstrated an ability to make the big play when needed. It seems to us that the Gators are going to find it near impossible to grind out long drives and they will almost certainly need to take advantage of short fields and hit some big plays in the passing game to make things interesting.

Florida has won three straight games in the series…..Georgia has outscored opponents 268-88.
Summary
This game rarely goes according to the script. Georgia has a the edge in talent but it is hard for us to make the case for laying 14 points. Then again, it is hard to visualize the Gators scoring a ton of points in this one. Argh. On the fence, yo.
Conclusion
Lean under 44 for small potatoes. If you need to play on a side – we would make a gun to the head selection on the Gators first half at more than a TD.
