The Game

Well what could possibly go wrong ? Florida has won 29 straight games against the Wildcats and will go for an even 30 when they suit up on Saturday at the Swamp. Kentucky was outscored 27-0 in the 2nd half last week and are not exactly flying high after losing at home to S Miss.

The Match-Up

Kentucky offense vs Florida defense

The Wildcats were pretty good last week on offense. The second half is a bit of a mystery but I guess Mark Stoops and staff will never cease to surprise their fans. Drew Barker had a 300-yard passing day and a MEGALOCKS FAV Boom Williams had close to a 100-yard rushing day. We think they have enough in the tool box to do some good things against a stingy Florida defense. The question will be – can they hang within the number ?

The Florida defense yielded less than 200 yards offense last week and they are still loaded with talent. The ongoing suspension list gets trimmed down for week two so they should be pretty fired up and ready to go. Kentucky has to not let the game get out of hand in the first quarter or heaven knows what could happen.

Florida offense vs Kentucky defense

We are not quite sure why Florida threw the ball so often last week, but the good news is that Luke Del Rio looked pretty good. On the flipside, the running game was pretty dormant and they barely cracked the 100-yard mark as a team. On the flipside of the flipside, the Kentucky defense just might be pretty bad this season. Can they be worse than UMass ? <think they could be. says nothing>

Tasty Tidbits

The Gators have an 8-1L9 ATS streak going against Kentucky in addition to their 29-game SU winning streak….Last time in Florida the Wildcats lost a 3 OT thriller.

Summary

This feels like too many points to give Kentucky. But is it ? Puzzler. We have the line closer to 14 but cannot back to team with a defense like this playing against any decent opponent. Not sure about the total because we need to find out if the Gators’ defense is SICK or just really good.

Conclusion

No official play.

Lean: Nothing yet. Would not play Kentucky.
