The Game
Clemson opens up their home schedule after a prime-time win over the Auburn Tigers in week one. Troy had a tune-up game vs Austin Peay and put up 700 yards of offense. This week’s task is going to be just a little bit more challenging.

The Tigers struggled a bit last week, but let’s not forget, that Auburn DL is pretty good and it was only the first week of the campaign. As sloppy as it looked at times they did not allow a sack and should appreciate the drop in class on Saturday. This is still one of the best offenses in college football and they are playing in one of the few places that CROWD WILL BE ROCKING GUY has a legitimate point.
Forget week one. In general terms, the Troy defense is going to be an above average Sun Belt defense. They should not be shredded to pieces in this game. Of course once that boulder gets rolling down the hill at that stadium…….
Troy offense vs Clemson defense
The Trojans offense is going to be good this season. You cannot take much from last week’s game vs and FCS opponent but they did rush for 383 yards and pass for another 323 yards. Jordan Chunn looks great at RB and QB Brandon Silvers is playing great football. The huge question is how the OL holds up against that ridiculous Clemson defense. Now, to be fair, Clemson had it pretty easy last week in the sense that Auburn had no ability to MATRICULATE in the passing game. Troy must be respected.
Tasty Tidbits
Clemson has won 16 straight home games which is a program record….OBSESSIVE TREND FOLLOWER GUY will note the Troy is 38-13 to the over in their last 51 non-conference games…Troy was 4-1 ATS as a road dog in 2015 #smallsamplesize…..Last time Troy was here in 2011 they led Clemson 16-13 at half….they ended up losing that game 43-19….Trivia buffs will note that Troy was only a 3-9 team that season.
Summary
Feels like there is a bit of value with the dog but we are not 100% on board with taking Troy yet. Unclear on the total as well as we are not sure exactly how great this Clemson D will be this season (really great or just great….makes a difference when laying 5 TDs).
