LSU at Florida – College Football Predictions
The Game
Yes, guy.
LSU brings their undefeated 5-0 record into the SWAMP on Saturday afternoon to take on the 4-1 Florida Gators. The Tigers have bagged quality wins over Miami and Auburn and are trying to keep things rolling until their DATE WITH DESTINY on November 3rd with ROLL TIDE. Florida lost to Kentucky earlier this season but that doesn’t seem like such a bad loss now that we see what the Wildcats are all about.
Can Florida keep things rolling until their big date with Georgia on October 27th?

The Match-Up:
LSU offense vs Florida defense
Yup, imagine that. Talking heads complaining about a QB that is 5-0 with a TD-INT ratio of 6-0 so far. The toughest games are ahead on the schedule but QB Joe Burrow has done a good job in his first season as a starting QB. The RB combo of Nick Brossette and the FRESH PRINCE OF HELIARE have rocked for 11 rushing TDS and WR Justin Jefferson has 294 yards receiving so far in 5 games. One way or another the Tigers have managed to bank 30 points in every game other than in their road win over Auburn (22-21). Florida has done a good job defensively BUT keep in mind they have really played an easy schedule in terms of opposing offenses and Kentucky rolled them for over 300 yards on the ground. Florida is (+9) in turnover margin (#2 FBS) and will need for force mistakes from an LSU offense that just doesn’t make too many errors. This match-up sets up well for a LSU-style grinding game.
Florida offense vs LSU defense
It’s not flashy but it’s working, yo.
HC Dan Mullen and staff are doing a fine job with QB Feleipe Franks who has a higher completion percentage than last season and an impressive 12-3 TD to INT ratio so far in 2018. The RB committee approach is working so far on offense and it might be that freshman Dameon Pierce eventually emerges as a star (10.2 YPC). A true #1 receiver has not emerged as of yet but 18 different players have caught a pass and WR Freddie Swain is averaging 21.4 yards per catch. The yards are going to be tough to come by against an LSU defense that is one of the best in college football. It will take patience, but it’s not unthinkable that Florida can grind out enough points to win this game provided that the defense holds up.
Trends, Intangibles and More!
LSU won a SNOT BUBBLER at Florida 17-16 last season…..The Tigers have a game with Georgia on deck…..Florida is in close to a must-win situation in terms of the SEC East as they have already lost to Kentucky and have a game with GA coming up.
Summary
It doesn’t take our high-priced SEC STAFF to tell you that points will be at a premium. LSU has the more accomplished resume and their style of play translates very well on the road. We think the Tigers are the better overall team and worth a look at the cheap price BUT you can’t discount the feisty Gators at home. Hmm.
Conclusion
Official play: None yet. Stay tuned.
Side: Lean to the Tigers.
Total: Lean to the under.
Note:
‘Lean’ implies we are comfortable suggesting ‘small potatoes’ on the game. Nothing more. < but always stay tuned for updates >
‘Slight lean’ implies we are almost certain to avoid the game and/or total from a betting standpoint even for ‘small potatoes’. We give an opinion for those who need to get down and want advice.
