MLB tidbits – Friday, May 10
Some quick thoughts on today’s MLB card. A couple of sentences detailing some of the stuff we considered when looking for investment opportunities.

Los Angeles at Baltimore (7:05 pm)
Angels -185 Orioles +170
LA or nothing in this match-up…..The problem is that Vegas has made the total appropriately high AND neither SP is worth betting on….Cahill has given up 12 DONGS…..Straily 8 BOMBS in 23 innings…..Player notes….Trout is 9/20 off Straily with 3 XBH…..Basically a trash game that you just want to play in DFS or player props.
Chicago at Toronto (7:07 pm)
Blue Jays -127 White Sox +118
Jays going with an opener after the scratch of your boy Buchholz and the value seems to be a bit with Chicago…..The Jays are BECOMING WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE…..The White Sox can hit just not sure about their pitching….Covey on the mound for the White Sox….Yikes….Player notes….Abreu been hitting well all year…Jays bats suck and are cold.
Miami at New York (7:10 pm)
Mets -180 Marlins +165
Wheeler has been solid this season but the Mets have not hit for the majority of the year and they are 2-5 in his 7 starts….Lopez is one of the most underrated SP in MLB….9 to 39 K to BB ratio and fewer hits allowed than IP……We had it lined at -170 so no value….Player notes….Mets bats are cold…Marlins bats 1 HR in L7D seems impossible, yo.
New York at Tampa Bay (7:10 pm)
Rays -158 Yankees +145
We have the game lined closer to -140 so a bit of perceived value on the Yankees….You know that German is OUR BOY and has won about 900,000 units for us (not as many as QUANTITIES ARE LIMITED MLB TWITTER DOUCHEBAG) this season….The issue is that Glasnow has been one of the top 10 (easily) SP in MLB so far….Maybe an under is a good idea but we don’t roll that way….Player notes….DJ hitting .500 L7D….Rays bats have been cold.
Seattle at Boston (7:10 pm)
Red Saaaax -197 Mariners +180
The Celtics got pummeled WICKIIIIIID HAAAAAARD but at least they have the baseball team…..Swanson is a trash SP but Rodriguez is very inconsistent….Seattle has been boom or bust and are the ideal DFS stab….Value is with the Mariners cannot justify a play…..Player notes…E5 is 6/18 off ER with 2 XBH off ER.
Detroit at Minnesota (8:10 pm)
Twins -206 Tigers +189
Big time pitching AND skill edge for the Twins as Odorizzi takes the mound….He has dealt 6/7 QS so far and is coming off two shutout starts (13 IP)…..Ross is just-a-guy (JAG) and this feels like a shit-kicking (am I allowed to say that?) waiting to happen…..We have it lined at -190 will take a pass….Twins bats look good in DFS….Player notes…Twins hitting .343 off TR (0 DONGS)….Tigers hitting .216 off JO in 51 AB with no DINGERS.
Texas at Houston (8:10 pm)
Astros -264 Rangers +240
Simple choice…..Astros or nothing….Verlander is one of (the?) best SP in MLB and the Astros are 6-2 in his starts…..he has allowed 10 DONGS so we can see the Rangers getting a few runs….Lynn is sneaky annoying in terms of wanting him to get CRUSHED….He has only yielded 3 DONGS in 40 IP but has been crushed in 2L3 starts….We have it lined at -225 or so….Player notes….Andrus and Cabera have good BVP vs JV….Beware.
Philadelphia at Kansas City (8:15 pm)
Phillies -141 Royals +130
Arrieta is not our boy BUT he has put together 6/7 QS….Bailey is JAG but has exceeded expectations and throws enough confusing SLOP to confuse the Phillies for 5-6 innings…..Slight lean to KC but have to take a pass their pitching is just VOMIT-INDUCING….Player notes….McCutchen has solid BVP vs Bailey.
Pittsburgh at St Louis (8:15 pm)
Cardinals -153 Pirates +140
Yikes. Neither SP is in good form and the Buccos bullpen REEKS to HIGH HEAVEN…..They gave up a 17-burger last night….Not sure what to do with this one will be looking at the team totals and F5 numbers in the next hour and will advise if any sweet action is on tap….Player notes….Carpenter has 3 DONGS in 19 AB vs TW….Bell is 5/11 off AW.
San Diego at Colorado (8:40 pm)
Rockies -175 Padres +161
Tempted to back the Rocks again after cashing our bet 1/3 of an inning into yesterday’s game…..MEGALOCKS 10 POUND STEAMER CLUB members were thrilled….Lauer is a solid SP but this is COORS FIELD and he does not go deep into games…Peeps love Marquez but he has allowed a .330 BA at home to go along with a 5.87 ERA….You know we like to almost always pass Coors games in terms of ML bets…..Don’t see any value in the total markets….Player notes…Arenado is our boy and it hitting like the GOAT of ALL TIME.
