MLB tidbits – Sunday, May 12
Some quick thoughts on today’s MLB card. A couple of sentences detailing some of the stuff we considered when looking for investment opportunities.

A couple of close ones yesterday. Rare 0-2. Not good. 169 bets made so far this year and there have been many that have gone our way due to good breaks. Yesterday, not so much. LOL.
We say bring it on! Sunday MLB, yo. As our boy Pauly Howard would say – Get yourself a bottle of whiskey and a revolver if you plan on betting baseball. LOL.
Will let you know if we get down on anything by 1pm….2pm would be earliest sweet action.
Los Angeles at Baltimore (1:10 pm)
Angels -165 Orioles +152
It’s HALOS are nothing in this one BUT we will say that Means has pitched well for the Os this year, particularly in his last start (7 IP 3 H no BB)…..2.48 ERA on the season….Canning is still learning the MLB ropes has been ok so far in two limited outings…..We have it lined at -175 gonna take a pass….Os are 5-15 at home….Player notes….fairly strong wind blowing in from right and temps in low 50s…..Trout on a 4/21 run……Crush Davis is a sneaky DONG play in DFS (?)…..Maybe.
Seattle at Boston (1:05 pm)
Red Saaax -159 Mariners +146
Great to see the Saax hitting the ball wikkkkid haaard gonna be a fun AL East race!…..Their bats are on LITERAL FIRE……Gonzales has had one bad start all season and has good numbers (3.08 ERA…..13-39 BB to K…just 4 DONGS allowed) whilst seeing his team go 6-3 in his starts…..Velazquez is just-a-guy (JAG) and will look to give the Saaax 2-3 solid innings to start the game…..Not getting in front of the Boston train right now but this is as good of a SP match-up as the Mariners could hope for…..amirite?……Player notes…..Cool temps today slight wind blowing in….Saaax 12/37 (.324) off MG.
Chicago at Toronto (1:07 pm)
Blue Jays -111 White Sox +103
In what will be known as the DOWNTOWN DEBACLE…..Your boy Stroman had a suck attack and showed up the manager and coaches in sight of everyone….Quality veteran leadership that the young guys can look up to…..Sanchez has been ok for the Jays we just wish he could get those BB under control (25 in 42 IP)…..He has logged decent innings so far and that is a big plus….Giolito has had flashes where he has looked really good including last start (7 SH IP)…..Feels like a coin toss….Maybe the Jays are fired up after yesterday??? That doesn’t usually help much in baseball but who knows?……Player notes….Chicago only has one DONG off Sanchez in 30 AB (Beef Wellington)……Abreu has finally cooled off a bit….Jays bats still cold.
Miami at New York (1:10 pm)
Mets -185 Marlins +170
UPDATE – GAME PPD
Not gonna spend too much time on this one….Cold and rainy….Make sure you thing hard about wagers on this game and/or DFS teams you may have in play….Smith has been AWESOME for the Marlins….Noah has been pretty good himself…..Miami still scrappy just having a hard time finding offense….One or two timely hits yesterday and they could have opened up the game….Player notes….Mets 0 DINGERS in 37 AB vs Smith.
New York at Tampa Bay (1:10 pm)
Rays -177 Yankees +163
Fun SP match-up as Snell takes on Tanaka…..Snell bounced back from a rough outing to throw 6 innings of ONE-HIT ball vs Arizona (9 K 0 BB) and should make life tough for NY…..Tanaka has been fine (45 IP 44 H 14-40 K to BB) but has allowed a few too many DINGERS (7)……Line feels a touch high but can’t fade Snell…..Rays feeling some heat now that Baaaastan is playing well….Gonna be a fun summer in this division…..Player notes….Rays hitting .333 (18/54) off Tanaka…..KK is 7/23…..Yanks do not have much exp vs Snell (18 AB)…….Diaz DOUBLE DONGED yesterday and is turning out to be ANOTHER fine acquisition for the Rays.
Texas at Houston (2:10 pm)
Astros -199 Rangers +183
Verlander and then Cole. Ouch. The Rangers finally get some relief and face top prospect Corbin Martin who is making his debut….Hard to know what to expect so we are taking a a pass on this game…..Sampson has been JAG for the Rangers BUT has held his own in two starts vs Houston this season…..Player notes…..Correa is 3/4 off AS with a pair of 2B…….Pence continues to MASH for Texas……Keep jamming his in those DFS lineups if the price is right…..Brantley has 4 BOMBS in the last 7 days.
Detroit at Minnesota (2:10 pm)
Twins -186 Tigers +171
Minnesota is OPENING UP like a TREMENDOUS MACHINE in the AL Central….They are now 25-13 and show no signs of slowing down….We likey likey…..Perez gets the start for Minnesota and he has been LIGHTS OUT over the past three starts…..21 IP…..1 ER……4 BB and 20K…..Yes your boy Stroman would be the 5th best starter on this team but we digress…..Norris has had his moments but he is still a bit flaky and the offense is …..well…..not good…..Lean to the Twins in this one may get down not sure yet…..will advise……Player notes….RUH ROH….Twins are hitting .400 off DN (26/65) with 5 BOMBS…..Rosario Cruz and Schoop have good BVP in small samples…..Rodriguez having a good season under the radar for the Tigers…..Cron Polanco and Garver are HOT.
Pittsburgh at St Louis (2:15 pm)
Cardinals -160 Buccos +148
Those wacky Pirates took another one from STL who continues to slide in the NL Central…..Cards go with JAG Dakota Hudson (35 IP 44 H 29-18 K to BB and 9 DONGS allowed) and he cannot be trusted…..Brault is a scary proposition for the Buccos (7.11 ERA…..filling in due to SP injuries)…..Feels like an over of some kind looks good….will advise…..Player notes….DeJong and Molina hottest Cards…Ozuna has cooled down….Polanco doing nice work right now for the Buccos.
Philadelphia at Kansas City (2:15 pm)
Phillies -118 Royals +109
Philly worth a look in this one based on the low number BUT they have something called a Cole Irvin on the mound vs J Junis…..We just don’t know what to expect and the Royals are sneaky dangerous…..Junis in an innings-eater that doesn’t eat innings….Will check out the F5 total and see if it’s worth playing…..Player notes…..Whit and Mondesi have cooled off a bit…..Phillies bats are lukewarm overall tho we must say we like that Hoskins dude.

Rockies -114 Padres +106
San Diego gutted one out yesterday and shut down the Rockies bats….Margevicius has done a good job of getting his team into the 5th or 6th innings with a shot to win…..Senzatela has been fairly rotten since his first start and has not pitched well in his two outings at Coors…..Not gonna guess on this one since we leaned Rockies yesterday and it’s anyone’s guess today….Coin flip….Best guess is someone goes bananas for 9+ runs…..Player notes….BVP boy Myers looking good again after our DONG CALL (sort of LOL) yesterday.

Giants -111 Reds +102
The Reds are becoming WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE which is a team better than their record indicates…..Mad Bum has been a bright light for the Giants and Mahle has only allowed 1 ER in each of his last two starts….Feels like another close game and a tough one to call…..An under of some kind is probably the way to go but you peeps know we like rolling with overs in MLB….Player notes…..Puig starting to heat up and he has 4 XBH in 46 AB off Mad Bum (.217 tho).
Cleveland at Oakland (4:07 pm)
Athletics -113 Indians +104
We got a great performance from Bauer yesterday but the defense went FULL-ON SIMPLE JACK and blew it for the Tribe…..Dude is a BEAST and could have easily had a suck attack given the D behind him and the D-BAG UMPIRE squeezing him in the early innings but he is a pro…..Indians on our banned list (at least until next week)…..As are a decent price but not sure what to expect from Mengden who is making his first apperance….Both pens are good but inconsistent at times…..Player notes…..Lindor and Ramirez need to show up at the plate or this team is DOOMED…..As bats a bit cold check status of K Davis he missed the game yesterday.
Atlanta at Arizona (4:10 pm)
Braves -128 Snakes +118
Braves will try and become the 2nd (!) team in the division to be over-.500…..Fried has been a nice surprise although he has struggled in two of his last 3 starts and Atlanta is just 4-5 in his 9 outings….Godley has been a TRAIN WRECK (7.49 ERA) for most of the season and faces a tough lineup today…..Lean to the Braves in this one don’t love having to lay -128….Looking at F5…Player notes…..Atlanta bats lukewarm doing enough to hang in most games…..Snakes getting good days from Peralta and Flores lately.
Washington at Los Angeles (4:10 pm)
Dodgers -142 Nats +131
Good for them. They loaded the bases with nobody out in the first inning last night and we were dreaming good things……Then a tool gets picked off 2nd (yup) followed by a pair of outs and the air went out of the balloon….Full marks for Buehler as he pitched well for LAD but FULLER marks for the Nats to finally get a big hit (GRAND DONG in the 8th) AND not have their pen crap the bed…..Maybe that will get the Nats going????……Ryu and Strasburg is a really fine SP match-up….Ryu putting in an all-star campaign so far with an ERA of 2.03 and just 2 (!) BB in 44 IP….Strasburg is Strasburg here’s hoping the offense can cobble together 3 runs or so…..Tough call….Player notes….Parra hit a GRAND SALAMI last night….Rendon has not woken up after injury….Bellinger has cooled down….Turner on FIRE.
Milwaukee at Chicago (7:05 pm)
Cubs -131 Brewers +121
Cubs are breathing fire right now and gutted out a 15-inning win yesterday….They are an impressive 14-6 at home and a tough fade…..Lester is on a roll (13 IP 0 ER last 2 starts)…..Chacin has been dicey on the road and has 20 BB in 39 IP…..Lean to the Cubbies….Player notes….Rizzo has 3 BOMBS off JC in 22 AB…..Braun is 8/20 off Lester but check his status.
