MLB tidbits – Sunday, May 19
Some quick thoughts on today’s MLB card. A couple of sentences detailing some of the stuff we considered when looking for investment opportunities.

I play everything I say that I like in the write-ups BUT I usually put only a few in blue as recommended plays because a) if you are not playing a low juice book like we are, playing too many games will eat into your profits. Just being honest b) You need to be really conservative with your bankroll betting baseball and that is hard for most people to do. Don’t wanna see peeps to get creamed on a bad day b/c they bet too much. c) I’m busy with football and like to do this right away and then get on with the day. Sometimes I don’t decide how to play a game until later. Just DM me on Twitter or comment on the post and I can answer any Q you have. Cheers!

Yes, guy. We are getting a taste of what the AL East race will look like heading into the summer. Rays took a game in extras yesterday and reclaimed the lead in the division…..Morton has been one of the best pitchers in the AL (2.32 50IP 36 hits 61K) and NY going with a GASCAN opener….We have it lined at -150 gonna pass…Player notes….Gardner is 5/10 with a 2B and HR off CM….Rays 4/21 (.190) off CG but that was good Chad Green not turd Chad Green.
Houston at Boston (1:05 pm)
Red Saaaax -165 Astros +152
YOUR Houston Astros continue to dominate the MLB landscape and are now winners of 10 consecutive games…..many of those without star Altuve…..Sale on the mound to try and stop the bleeding and he is in a freaking ZONE right now…..31Ks last two starts….Keep in mind that Baaastan is just 2-7 in his nine starts and W Miley has been under-the-radar sneaky good for a while now and not had a bad start all year…..Line should probably be closer to -150 Astros are a tough fade right now…..Player notes…..juicy wind blowing out to left could be a few BOMBS….Red Saaaax hitting Miley wikkkkid haaaard 25/73 (.342) but many of those were off crappy Miley and not crafty Miley….Pearce has a pair of DINGERS off WM in 19 AB…..Astros just one DONG off Sale in 127 AB.
Colorado at Philadelphia (1:05 pm)
Phillies -125 Rockies +115
Rockies keep hitting the GLASS CEILING every time it looks like they might get to .500…..Freeland has allowed too many BOMBS (12) and walks this season but did have his best (?) outing of the year vs Philly back at Coors…..Eickhoff came back to earth after three straight impressive starts….He still boasts good peripherals and an ERA under 3……Feels like a game that both teams get the bats going but the total is appropriately high…..argh….may dig into this one deeper….Player notes….Harper BOMB yesterday is he gonna get on track???……Wolters Dahl and CHUCKY NASTY have good BVP…..wind blowing out to left.
Oakland at Detroit (1:10 pm)
Athletics -185 Tigers +170
Mr NO-HITTER is on the bump for the As as they try and creep ever closer to .500…..Fiers hasn’t been bombed since April 20th which has to be some kind of record for him….Tigers are stinking something fierce right now and had their best shot yesterday with Boyd…..Feels like As or nothing but impossible to swallow that kind of chalk with your boy Fiers….Player notes….strong wind blowing in from right…K Davis missed the game yesterday check his status if you are a DFS dude.
Baltimore at Cleveland (1:10 pm)
Indians -255 Orioles +232
When the BEEBS isn’t singing catchy tunes and getting arrested for peeing on strangers’ lawns he is pitching well for the Tribe…..although his performance the last five starts have definitely been a notch down from the early season appearances….Ramirez on the bump for the Os and we just say no…..It’s Indians or nothing line is a bit rich…..Player notes….18 mph wind blowing out to right center RUH ROH could be some DONGS…..Wilkerson and Mancini are hot….Clev bats getting hot other than your boy Ramirez who will hopefully show up before August.
New York at Miami (1:10 pm)
Mets -193 Marlins +177
The Mets are slip sliding away and are now four games below .500…..The Marlins are scrappy and will fight you for it…..Noah and his wonderful flowing hair gets the call at a hefty price tag….He has been ok this year but inconsistent….Alcantara is just-a-guy (JAG) but gets to face a Mets team that has not hit well in this series….Player notes….Marlins hitting 14/49 off NS (.286)….Mets .214 off SA and are DONGLESS in 42 AB.
Los Angeles at Cincinnati (1:10 pm)
Dodgers -179 Reds +165
LA had a hard time getting going yesterday after smashing DONGS all night long on Friday…..Ryu has been one of THE best SP in MLB…..last 4 starts 32 IP 3 ER 1 BB (!!!) and 31 K (!)…..WHOA NELLIE, indeed….Roark gets the call for the Reds and whilst he is JAG he has only allowed two TATERS in 46 IP……20 BB are a bit much but he has been serviceable overall…Player notes….LAD 6/28 off TR with 0 HR…..starting Reds are 11/30 (.367) off Ryu….Peraza Votto and Suarez all have good BVP in small samples….hmmmmm…..Leaning to LAD F5 TT ov will report back.
Milwaukee at Atlanta (1:20 pm)
Brewers -127 Braves +117
The Braves are playing good baseball and took one in dramatic fashion last night…..Woodruff is a tough fade has allowed 1 ER or less in 4 (!) str starts…..Folty has been a HOT MESS this season and Atlanta is 0-4 in his starts….Lean to the Brewers in this spot best play feels like F5….Will report back not on it yet….Player notes….Starting Brewers are 16/47 off MF (.340)….Grandal has two BOMBS in 6 AB….Yelich is 9/22……UPDATE rolling with Brewers F5 TT ov 2.5 -105 at Pinny.
Toronto at Chicago (2:10 pm)
White Sox -116 Jays +107
Neither team inspires much confidence right now particularly YOUR Toronto Blue Jays…..We give Thornton credit he has pitched pretty well most of the season but the Jays are 3-6 in his starts….He is JAG with a bit of upside for the future….Lopez has quietly put together 5 QS in his last 6 starts….Line looks a bit short would say Sox or nothing……Player notes….Moncada and Anderson hitting well Abreu a bit cold.
St Louis at Texas (3:05 pm)
Cardinals -165 Rangers +152
The Cards looked like WHO WE THOUGHT THEY WERE (really good) yesterday and will try and leave town today on a good note…..Flaherty has been ok this season but not overwhelming….Cards are 5-4 in his starts…..He has NOT looked good overall on the road and Texas is a tough place to pitch….Just ask future HALL OF FAMER (?) G Cole…..Smyly on the bump for the Rangers and there are some nasty RH bats to deal with…..Cards look good price is too high….Player notes….Goldy and Ozuna a bit cold….DeDONG is hitting well as is Bader…..Lots of hot bats in the Texas lineup including your boy Odor who has three DONGS L7D…..Forsythe also hot.
Kansas City at Los Angeles (4:07 pm)
Angels -160 Royals +147
A couple of lefties today….Skaggs has pitched like JAG and has only pitched 6 innings twice this season…..He has not allowed a SB and that is yuuuuge vs the Royals…..Duffy has been decent for the Royals but is prone to getting blown up at any moment…Line might be a bit light Halos are playing better…..Gonna pass may look at some totals…..Player notes….Trout and Ohtani hitting well among others….Royals DONGLESS last 7 days…..Trout has good BVP.
Minnesota at Seattle (4:10 pm)
Mariners -112 Twins +103
The Twins are moving like a TREMENDOUS MACHINE and are threatening to OPEN UP on the Indians…..They scored 18 runs yesterday but will face a tough LH in Kikuchi was has been very consistent and has reeled off 3 str QS….Gibson has been up and down but is almost certain to keep you in the game….Twins are 6-2 in his starts….Line looks a bit short but SP edge is slightly with Seattle…..Player notes….E5 has 4 TATERS off KG in 30 AB.
Pittsburgh at San Diego (4:10 pm)
Padres -113 Pirates +105
Pittsburgh keeps doing what they do and are now three games over .500….Musgrove had two horrid starts in a row but was back to his old (good) self last outing vs the SNAKES….Quantrill is JAG learning the craft at this point…..Feels like there is some value with the BUCCOS…..Not on it yet….Player notes…..Machado is 3/6 off JM with three 2B…..Josh Bell is one of the hottest hitters in baseball just MASHING.
