MLB tidbits – Tuesday, May 23
Some quick thoughts on today’s MLB card. A couple of sentences detailing some of the stuff we considered when looking for investment opportunities.

I play everything I say that I like in the write-ups BUT I usually put only a few in blue as recommended plays because a) if you are not playing a low juice book like we are, playing too many games will eat into your profits. Just being honest b) You need to be really conservative with your bankroll betting baseball and that is hard for most people to do. Don’t wanna see peeps to get creamed on a bad day b/c they bet too much. c) I’m busy with football and like to do this right away and then get on with the day. Sometimes I don’t decide how to play a game until later. Just DM me on Twitter or comment on the post and I can answer any Q you have. Cheers!
Stuff in green notes ideas that are only for people with a higher risk tolerance and have experience with the ups and downs of betting MLB. Chronic whiners and panic-stricken peeps should look away.

Nats -153 Mets +141
The Nats bullpen reached yet another level of PURE DUNG last night and will try and shrug that off today….Strasburg has been a STUD this season and has QS in 5L6 outings…..82Ks in 65 IP….Yes, guy…..Matz has had an up and down season and pitched ok in his Apr 6 start vs Wash….Wash unplayable losers of 4 str and now 11 games below .500……#SUMMERFIRESALEUPCOMING?….Line looks a bit high but not gonna back Matz vs SS….Player notes…..med wind blowing out to left center…..Rendon 8/25 off SM with three DINGERS……Trea Turner has decent BVP….Mets have no DONGS off SS in 113 AB.
Colorado at Pittsburgh (12:35 pm)
Pirates -128 Rockies +118
Pirates below .500 at home…..Rockies sub-.500 on the road…..Lyles get the call for the BUCCOS and has been REALLY good in his last three starts (all QS)…..19.2 IP 11 hits 7 BB 21 K……Just four DONGS allowed all year…..Senzatela is just-a-guy (JAG) who scrapes by…..Feels like you could do worse things than take a taste of Pirates ML…..Player notes….It’s in the 80s today…..Rockies hitting .194 off JL (12/62).
New York at Baltimore (12:35 pm)
Yankees -196 Orioles +180
The Bronx Bombers just hit another HR as you were reading this…….Not much to say on this one….We have it lined at -200….Tanaka and company vs Bundy and the crud Os…..They have lost 5 straight and are a tough team to back right now….Bundy has been sneaky-decent maybe they can hang?? Taking a pass not gonna hope for that to happen….Player notes….Mancini has good BVP….Morales and Gardner have hit Bundy well FWIW.
Boston at Toronto (12:37 pm)
Red Saaax -131 Jays +121
And let there be runs…….Richard takes the ball for Toronto and you have to think that Baaaastan can smash him even with a watered-down lineup…..Something called a Weber is on the bump for the Saaax and the Jays bats are starting to awaken……Feels like Bos or nothing….Checking out the various totals markets….Player notes…..Check status of JDM who missed another game yesterday.
Miami at Detroit (1:10 pm)
Tigers -150 Marlins +138
Our boy Boyd is back on the mound and the Tigers will do their best to try and avoid the sweep at the hands of the WHITE HOT MARLINS who have won five straight games…..Boyd is pitching at an all-star level…..Marlins are 1-8 in Richards’ starts this year…..He has been ok but grants too many BB (26 in 48 IP)……Feels like a spot to plug your nose and play Los Tigres F5…Miami’s pen is no great shakes but the Tigers pen is TRASH….ML full game at your own risk…Player notes….Looks like a strong wind blowing out to left….Miggy hitting well but still lacking in the power dept…..B Anderson has been SPICY lately for Miami.
Philadelphia at Chicago (2:20 pm)
Cubs -108 Phillies -101
The Phillies are still in first place but YOUR Atlanta Braves are CHARGING HARD…..The Cubbies continue to play solid ball and have Lester going today who has had one bad outing all year…..Um….That was his last start tho in Washington…..ERA of 2.09 a bit of a mirage but he is nails more often than not…..Our boy Nola just might be WHO WE THOUGHT HE WAS (really good)….He has pitched really well since mid-April and had 12 Ks in his last start….Line feels a bit short would side with the Cubbies if forced to make a play…..Player notes….RUH ROH…..Strong wind blowing out to right center……Cubs LH batters could go ALL NIGHT LIKE LUMBERJACK…..Starting Chi Cubs are 7/33 (.212) off AN…..157 AB for Phillies vs Lester nobody has BVP that stands out…..Something called a Rodriguez has three DONGS in 55 AB but is hitting .218.
Atlanta at San Francisco (3:45 pm)
Braves -112 Giants +104
Giants starting to SLIP SLIDE AWAY and are sub-.500 at home…..MAD BUM has been good not great….62 hits allowed in 62 IP….4.21 ERA……64-11 K to BB (!)…..SF is 5-5 in his 10 starts….Gausman has also been ok and much better in May than he was in April…..You know we love us some SWEET ATLANTA BRAVES ACTION…..Not on this one yet….The issue???….Their pen is TRASH and taking them F5 is a risk with Mad Bum ya know????……..Player notes….Pillar is 13/31 off KG (.419) and that classifies as a wtf stat.
Minnesota at Los Angeles (4:05 pm)
Twins -132 Angels +122
We took a SLEDGEHAMMER to the GIBLETS yesterday when they chose to call the Angels came a PPD due to wet grass…..Yup…..can’t play baseball on a wet field…..Unsafe……How about we all just take refuge in giant bubbles?…..Feels like Twins are nothing in this spot…..We are talking MATT HARVEY vs a team that can punish baseballs….Perez has been solid for Minnesota….53 IP 45 hits 2.89 ERA just four TATERS allowed…..Feels like a play is in here somewhere stay tuned…..Player notes….King Albert is 10/27 off MP…..Trout just 7/29.
Tampa Bay at Cleveland (6:10 pm)
Rays -125 Indians +116
Rays opener. You know the rules….We no play dis game……Rays starting to slide a bit as the Yankees roll like a TREMENDOUS MACHINE……Only reason to watch this game may be to see if your boy Jose MVP Ramirez can actually get on base. <grabs popcorn>
Chicago at Houston (8:10 pm)
Astros -181 White Sox +166
Houston looks to bounce back after the once-a-month bad start from our boy G Cole…..C Martin has not done much of note in his first two starts….Giolito has impressed us this season and we would like to see him turn into a legit SP…..Line feels a smidge high….Passing for now…..Player notes…..Astros hitting .341 (15/44) off LG…..Brantley has a pair of DONGS in just 6 AB.
